Ulundu Adai (Urad dal Adai)

How to prepare rice flour for making Ulundu Adai (Urad dal Adai) - serves 4

Ingredients needed

Raw rice – 1 cup [our standard tumbler]

Parboiled rice – 1 cup

Split Black Urad Dal [Ulandu Paruppu] – 1/2 cup

Toor Dal [ThovaramParuppu] – (1/2 cup)1 handful

Chana Dal [Kadalai Paruppu] – (1/2 cup) / 1 handful

Dry Red chilli- 2 or 3 no.s

Curry leaves – 15 leaves

Asafoetida

Salt to taste 

 

Method:

Soak the Rice and the Dals separately  for a minimum of 2 hours and then grind them together along with the rest of ingredients.

Use the table top grinder instead mixie for better results because the former does a better job with parboiled rice.

Delicious Ulundu Adai (Urad dal Adai)  is ready to eat!!
